Monday 23rd January - Cannock Round-Up

It was another excellent evening's football in the Cannock Monday 6 a side league this week as all teams were in attendance for their fixtures across all four divisions throughout the night.

Premier Division leaders Skillage In The Village won a closely competed encounter against Aston Villagers by 3 goals to 2 in a thoroughly entertaining match, keeping them a point ahead of Harchester United who themselves got a comfortable 4-0 win against Bridge Rejects.  Athletico Gem Carpets and Neville Wears Prada completed the other league game in the division and it was another close encounter in which both had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Sevilla Depression have nothing to be glum about so far this season as they romped to a 5-2 win over Socks to win their fifth game in six to remain at the summit of the Division One table.  Second placed Harriers lost ground on the leaders after they suffered a 4-2 reverse at the hands of Tekkerslovakia, elsewhere Karius to Glory moved to third place with a hard fought 1-0 win against Sporting Bad Haircuts, whilst new boys Smokehouse Athletic got a win on their second game in the league, running out 1-0 winners over Thiago X Silva in a well drilled performance.

The Swan FC are a point clear in Division Two as they won by a single goal against Alisson Wonderland, whilst Madeleine Milan moved into second spot with an 8-2 thrashing of Only Matip In.  A 4-1 win for The Arcade Cannock over Xavi Dodgers puts them into third place as they chase promotion.  New boys Foley Kings look a useful addition to the league as they cruised to a 5-1 win against The Special Ones.

Beacon Bombs went to the top of the Division Three table with an impressive 5-2 victory over We Lose Every Week, putting them ahead of Pathetico Madrid who were beaten 4-0 by Ayden B in a shock result.  Red Hot Chilli Knackers remain third and moved within a point of the top two after they thrashed Set 8 Ballers 7-0, whilst Koch In Dias remain fourth after coming from behind to run out 3-2 winners against Lallanas.
