Monday 24th January - Cannock Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Cannock Monday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled and some excellent matches played across all three divisions.

Harchester and Beaky Blinders continue to lead the way at the top of the Premier Division as they both won 5-0 this week.  Other action saw all three games closely competed.  Third placed Skillage In The Village were held to a 1-1 draw by Karius to Glory in an entertaining game which could've gone either way, a draw probably a fair result in the end.  Aston Villagers and Cannock Young Boys also shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw as both also remain level in the table, and Club Bates moved up to sixth place in the table with a 1-0 win over Thiago X Silva.

Cannockbis Dank Council keep up their superb start to the campaign as they were 2-0 winners over The Arcade Cannock, they remain top of the table, having dropped just a single point so far this season.  The Swan FC stay in second place but the gap has closed between them and the teams behind them, one of which is Athletico Gem Carpets who beat them convincingly by a 6-1 score line.  Borussia Teeth sit in third place following their 6-0 thrashing of Allison Wonderland.  Elsewhere Peasports moved up to fifth after a scintillating performance against Bridge Rejects whom they beat by a 5-2 scoreline.

In Division Two, top of the table PG got a shock this week as Red Hot Chilli Knackers were in red hot form, thrashing them 5-2, three early goals from Chilli Knackers giving them a mountain to climb.  Special Ones moved to within a point of the leaders as they beat bottom of the table Lallanas In Pyjamas 2-0, whilst River Plate dropped to fourth having been held to a 2-2 draw by a recently improved It Was Just Matip.  Pathetico Madrid remain in mid-table fifth place as they put in a good performance to win 3-1 against Expected Toulouse, whilst Harriers were convincing 5-0 winners against Beacon Bombs.
