Monday 24th October - Cannock Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Cannock Monday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance throughout the night across all four divisions, barring Cannockbis Dank Council who have been spoken to and confirmed to return on Monday 31st October.

After a very short period in the league, Jerry Hat Tricks have now withdrawn from the league due to a lack of numbers.  On a positive note, we welcome new team FC Lloret De Mar to the league and wish these good luck in their first fixture on Monday 31st October as they face Beacon Bombs in Division Three.

Owing to their opponents non-attendance, Skillage remain top of the Premier Division after they got a 5-0 win this week, whilst second placed Aston Villagers lost ground on the leaders after a 3-2 reverse against FC Crown, whilst Harchester United move up to third place after an impressive 5-0 win over River Plate who they leapfrog in the table.

In Division One, SBFC moved to the summit as they overcame Sporting Bad Haircuts this week, running out 2-1 winners to go above Sporting in the table.  Sevilla Depression moved back into promotion contention after recovering from defeat last week to record a 4-2 win over Borussia Teeth, bringing them within a point of the top two.  Bridge Rejects lost ground on the promotion spots as they suffered a surprise 5-2 reverse against Karius To Glory, whilst Madeleine Milan and Tekkerslovakia shared the spoils in a 4-4 draw as both bid for survival.

The top v bottom clash in Division Two was closer than anticipated but runaway leaders Barsportelona were 3-2 winners over Baines on Toast, all but sealing the title with four to play.  Special Ones moved up to second spot with a 4-2 win over It Was Just Matip who drop to fourth place in a tight race for second spot.  Allison Wonderland are also right back in the hunt for promotion as they were 4-3 winners over Rugeley Massive, whilst Thiago X Silva moved away from the drop zone and only two points off the promotion spots as they were impressive 5-1 winners against Harriers!

In Division Three, Swan FC went to top spot this week as a 2-0 win over Pathetico Madrid, coupled with Arcade Cannock's second defeat on the spin saw the top two switch places!  Arcade were beaten 4-3 by Red Hot Chilli Knackers in a pulsating game, giving third placed Beacon Bombs the chance to move level with the promotion slots as they were 5-2 winners over Lallanas.
