Monday 25th October - Cannock Round-Up

It was another superb evening's football in the Cannock Monday 6 a side league this week with all teams in attendance across all four divisions as scheduled, and some entertaining fixtures played.

Skillage In The Village edge ever closer to the Premier Division title as they recorded a 3-1 win over Cannock Young Boys, they are still being chased down by Sporting Bad Haircuts though who put Beaky Blinders out of the title picture with a 2-1 win this week.  The top two meet this coming Monday in what could well be the decider.

Cheslyn Hay showed no let up as they chase down the Division One title, they were rampant against Field FC with a 7-0 victory, one more point will seal promotion for them.  Club Bates are back into the top two as they drew 2-2 with Cannockbis Dank Council and Demba9Bar suffered a 3-1 defeat to Thiago X Silva to drop to third place.  New side Allison Wonderland recorded a second straight win since joining, as they beat Karius To Glory by a 2-0 scoreline.

Athletico Gem Carpets promotion was finally confirmed this week, as they were 6-1 victors over Gangsters Allardyce, continuing a superb campaign.  They will now look to confirm the title over the next two games, and all eyes could be firmly on the final game of the season when they meet second placed Borussia Teeth.  The Arcade Cannock's 1-0 win over Dominos leaves them with an outside chance of promotion, but it looks unlikely at this stage, whilst Big Dossers win by the same scoreline gives them a fighting chance of avoiding the drop.

Bridge Rejects got back to winning ways this week and confirmed the league title in the process barring a major meltdown over the next two weeks.  They were 5-2 winners over Harriers this week in an impressive performance.  PeaSports were held to a 1-1 draw by The Special Ones this week but it looks unlikely to deny their promotion from Division 3.
