Monday 28th March - Cannock Round-Up

It was another fantastic evening's football in the Cannock Monday 6 a side league this week, with all 30 teams in attendance for their scheduled matches once again and some superb football played across the division, as some big results in terms of standings happened!

Harchester United staved off a valiant effort from Skillage In The Village, who, after a tough start to the season put together an incredible 12 match unbeaten run to try and retain their title.  They came unstuck this week though, as Harchester ran out 2-1 winners and got the job done, sealing the title with a game to spare.

Aston Villagers moved into third spot as they look for as high a finish as possible, they were convincing 5-2 winners against Karius To Glory, whilst Beaky Blinders dropped to fourth, suffering a heavy 6-0 defeat to Cannock Young Boys.  Club Bates and Sporting Bad Haircuts couldn't be separated in the mid-table clash, the game ending 2-2, whilst Nice to Michu moved off the bottom in the battle of the relegated sides, winning 4-0 against Thiago X Silva.

It's all to play for in the Division One title race going into the final game.  Peasports went to the summit with just one game to go, knocking off Cannockbis Dank Council after thrashing them 5-1.  Both need at least a point to secure promotion in the final game, but Borussia Teeth still have an outside chance of catching them, they drew 2-2 with Athletico Gem Carpets who's promotion hopes are dashed for another season.

Bridge Rejects remain in fifth after running out 3-2 winners over Sevilla Depression in an entertaining game, whilst The Swan FC won by the same scoreline against The Arcade Cannock in another mid-table game.  Allison Wonderland swept aside new boys Bazikstan to round off the division's action, they were convincing 5-0 winners in a superb performance.

PG confirmed the Division Two title once and for all this week, beating River Plate 4-3 in a highly competed game, River drop out of the promotion places after this result, as form team Harriers unlikely promotion charge seems to be coming to fruition at the right time, they now sit in second place after two late goals sealed a 4-3 win over Red Hot Chilli Knackers.  The Special Ones were 2-0 winners over It Was Just Matip, and remain one of four teams who are battling it out for the final promotion spot going into next week!

Other action saw Beacon Bombs score two late goals to come from behind and seal a 3-2 win over Pathetico Madrid to move up to eighth spot, whilst new boys BarSportelona looked impressive in their first game as they were 4-1 victors against Lallanas in Pyjamas.

We wish all teams the best of luck going into the final games of the season with Cannock's premier providers of small sided football!  The new season will kick off immediately on Monday 11th April.
