Monday 6th February - Cannock Round-Up

It was an excellent evening's football in the Cannock Monday 6 a side league this week, which saw all 32 teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled across all four divisions.

Skillage In The Village went back to the top of the Premier Division as they were impressive 5-2 winners against Foley Kings, two early goals set the precedent for the Champions to take control of the game.  That result moves them two points clear of Harchester United who drop to second after they were beaten 3-2 in an entertaining game against Athletico Gem Carpets.  Aston Villagers were narrow 2-1 winners in their match against Neville Wears Prada as they stay in third position, whilst Bridge Rejects and BarSportelona shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw, as the latter moved out of the drop zone on goal difference.

Division One leaders Sevilla Depression were held to a 1-1 draw this week by Karius To Glory, who were second prior to kick off but dropped to third as Sporting Bad Haircuts were 2-1 winners against Thiago X Silva to move up a place.  Tekkerslovakia move up to fourth as they were narrow 3-2 victors against Smokehouse in an entertaining match, whilst the action was completed by Socks who climb out of the bottom two with an impressive 3-1 victory over Harriers.

Madeleine Milan now lead Division Two and their recent goal scoring exploits continued as they were 9-1 winners against ADI Cannock and have now scored an impressive 46 goals in just eight matches, The Swan drop to second place as they had to settle for a point against a tough to beat Arcade Cannock who stay in third after a goalless draw.  The Special Ones put a bad day at the office last week behind them as they bounced back with a 3-1 victory against Allison Wonderland, whilst Matip climbed out of the drop zone with a 3-1 victory over Xavi Dodgers.

Division Three leaders Red Hot Chilli Knackers claimed a vital win this week as they beat Beacon Bombs by 2 goals to 1 in a matchup which saw both level on points prior to kick off, such is the close nature of this division they drop to fourth place.  Koch In Dias moved into second spot as they claimed an impressive 4-1 win over Ayden B, whilst Pathetico Madrid dropped to third after a 2-2 draw with Gangsters Allardyce, the top four now separated by just two points.  Lallanas look to be the best of the rest as the fifth placed team were 1-0 winners over Set 8 Ballers in another well competed game.

We thank all teams for their continued commitment and reliability which ensures we run on time and smoothly on a weekly basis, and we wish all teams good luck going into game week 9 with Cannock's premier providers of small sided football!
