Monday 6th March - Cannock Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Cannock Monday 6 a side league this week overall, with all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled and some well competed matches played throughout the night.

Congratulations to Skillage In The Village who wrapped up another Premier Division title with two games to spare, as they cruised to a 5-0 win over Athletico Gem Carpets, putting them into an unassailable 5 point lead with only two games remaining as second placed Harchester had to settle for a goalless draw with Aston Villagers, making it one win in five for Harchester.  Foley Kings look to be contenders for next season as they now sit third after a 9-2 thrashing of Bridge Rejects, whilst Neville Wears Prada beat Barsportelona 2-1 to give themselves a genuine chance of survival, but they will have to beat second and third in their final games of the season which may be a tough ask!

After a mini blip, Division One leaders Sevilla Depression got back to winning ways this week as they won a five goal thriller against Sporting Bad Haircuts 3-2, dropping the latter out of the top two at a crucial stage of the campaign, they are overtaken by Tekkerslovakia who shared a point each with Karius To Glory in a 0-0 stalemate.  Thiago X Silva look a good bet to stay up now after a comfortable 5-0 win over Harriers puts them three clear of the drop zone, whilst Socks and Smokehouse had to settle for a point each as neither could take the initiative in a 1-1 draw.

Madeleine Milan got a 5-0 walkover this week due to the absence of their opponents Allison Wonderland, but a 3-0 win for The Swan over ADI Cannock and a 3-2 win for Arcade Cannock against Matip means both remain locked on points with the leaders.  A mouth watering tie between Madeleine and The Swan awaits next week!   Elsewhere in the division, The Special Ones climbed up to fourth after a 4-2 win over bottom side Xavi Dodgers as they look to finish as high as they can in the final two weeks.

Red Hot Chilli Knackers look to have got over the line in Division Two in terms of promotion, they need another point to confirm the fact after their 3-1 win against Ayden B FC, but the title remains up for grabs as second placed Koch In Dias stay a point behind them, they officially ended Pathetico Madrid's promotion hopes after beating them 5-0.  Beacon Bombs keep digging in and remain outsiders for promotion, they won a thriller against Dijk In Dias by 6 goals to 5 but will need to win their remaining games and hope for second to slip up.  Gangsters Allardyce and Set 8 Ballers completed the action in an entertaining 2-2 draw.
