Monday 7th February - Cannock Round-Up

It was another fantastic evening's football in the Cannock Monday 6 a side league this week once again, with all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled and some closely contested games played once again.

Harchester United went into an outright lead this week as they won the battle of the top two, 1-0 the final score line as they beat Beaky Blinders.  Skillage In The Village were 3-2 winners over Sporting Bad Haircuts in an entertaining game, they remain in third place and closed the gap on second to three points.  Club Bates and Cannock Young Boys shared the spoils in the mid-table clash, 2-2 the final score in a well contested game, whilst Karius To Glory put a three point gap between them and the drop zone as they were 2-1 winners over Thiago X Silva.

The top of Division One has opened up a little bit after this week as leaders Cannockbis Dank Council were soundly beaten 7-0 by third placed Borussia Teeth who are now just three points off the leaders.  Peasports sit in second place and are now just a single point off the leaders as they showed no mercy against new side Notinyourmoms Forest whom they thrashed 10-0!  Athletico Gem Carpets moved back up to fourth place and well in the thick of things at the top of the table as they won a thrilling end to end game over Bridge Rejects by a 4-3 score line with a late winner sealing the result.  Elsewhere Allison Wonderland climbed out of the drop zone with a solid 2-0 win over The Swan FC who drop to fifth place.

PG continue to lead the way in Division Two as they ran out convincing 5-2 winners against bottom of the table Lallanas In Pyjamas in a game that threw up few surprises.  Red Hot Chilli Knackers moved back into second spot after their 4-1 win against It Was Just Matip with an excellent performance, taking advantage of The Special Ones 4-1 defeat to Harriers which sees them drop to third.  River Plate remain in fourth place after overcoming Pathetico Madrid by a 2-0 score line, whilst Beacon Bombs picked up their first win of the campaign with an impressive 5-0 result over Expected Toulouse.
