Monday 7th March - Cannock Round-Up

It was a good evening's football overall in the Cannock Monday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance once again and some excellent matches played across all three divisions!  

Harchester remain at the summit following their comfortable 5-0 win over Karius to Glory, but second placed Skillage looked relentless as they dismantled Club Bates by an 11-1 score line.  Third placed Beaky Blinders and fourth placed Aston Villagers could not be separated as the two shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw, whilst Cannock Young Boys moved up a place to fifth with a 1-0 win over Thiago X Silva.  Finally, Sporting Bad Haircuts look to have sealed safety for the season, they were 2-1 winners against Nice to Michu.

Peasports look to keep a grip on the second promotion place, they were 6-1 winners over The Swan FC, whilst third placed Borussia Teeth remain three points behind them after an impressive 5-2 win against The Arcade Cannock.  Athletico Gem Carpets stay in fourth place as they also remain in the promotion hunt, they were in clinical form in front of goal as they racked up a 7-2 win against Allison Wonderland.  Bridge Rejects look to have secured a mid-table finish as they were 5-4 winners in an end to end encounter with Blewitt.

Division Two continues to be led by PG as they were convincing 6-2 winners over third placed The Special Ones this week, they look on course for promotion but there is a chasing pack of teams behind them ready to pounce as four teams chase promotion.  Second placed Red Hot Chilli Knackers were beaten 4-2 by River Plate who now sit a point behind this weeks opponents!  Harriers stay in fifth place but still have an outside chance of sneaking into the top two, a 1-0 win over Pathetico Madrid sees them three points behind second spot.  Elsewhere, Lallanas In Pyjamas looked in good form this week as they moved away from the bottom of the table with a 6-1 win over Beacon Bombs, with Just Matip thrashing Not In Your Moms Forest by the same score line as they have now lost just one in nine!
