Monday 9th January - Cannock Round-Up

It was a good return to action in the Cannock Monday 6 a side league this week as we returned to action for 2023 with all teams in attendance following the Christmas break, including the addition of two new teams who played this week.

Neville Wears Prada went straight into the Premier Division and picked up a positive first result, as they shared a point apiece with Bridge Rejects, 3-3 the final score giving them something to build on.  Skillage In The Village remain level with the leaders as they beat Barsportelona by a 4-1 scoreline this week, whilst Gem Carpets moved up to third as they edged past Aston Villagers by a single goal.

Division One leaders Sevilla Depression stay two points clear as they won an entertaining encounter 4-2 against Tekkerslovakia, whilst Sporting Bad Haircuts dropped a place to third despite a 2-0 win over Socks as Harriers 5-0 win moved them into second.  Karius To Glory moved into fourth place as they also won by a 2-0 scoreline in their match against Thiago X Silva in a well drilled performance.

Division Two is shaping up nicely this season as Allison Wonderland now lead the way following an impressive 6-0 win over new boys We Lose Every Week, moving them ahead on goal difference of Madeleine Milan who suffered a 2-1 reverse against The Arcade Cannock in a well competed game.  The Swan FC remain in third place as they brushed past Xavi Dodgers by 5 goals to 1, whilst Special Ones and Matip shared a point each in a thrilling 3-3 draw.

Pathetico Madrid made it 4 wins in a row this week as they ran out 3-2 winners over Lallanas In Pyjamas in an entertaining encounter, whilst Beacon Bombs moved up a place into second, beating new boys Set 8 Ballers 2-0.  Koch In Dias occupy third position after leapfrogging their opponents Red Hot Chilli Knackers, who they squeezed past by a single goal.
