Wednesday 14th September - Cannock Round-Up

It was another fantastic evening's football in the Cannock Wednesday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches barring a cancellation from Pique Blinders who return to action on Wednesday 21st September.

Ideal FC continue their superb season as they bid for a first title in the Premier Division, they picked up their eighth win in nine as they thrashed Athletic Bilswan by 5 goals to 1, they now move two points clear of second place as Exeter Gently were held to a 3-3 draw by Mable's Spartans, a result which sees them drop to third, whilst Cat Zouma move to second on goal difference with a 4-2 victory against Newstead.  Completing the action in the Premier Division was a great win for bottom side Shameless 6 who also won 4-2 against Oriental Delight.

In Division One, Nutmeg City won the battle of the top two, as they moved three points clear of second placed Coggers whom they eventually ran out 4-3 winners in an end to end game.  Third placed Banglasesh FC lost a ten goal thriller against Phil My Teet by 6 goals to 4, whilst Strongbow Unathletic climbed off the bottom spot with a 5-4 win over Traff FC.

Division Two sees new leaders after this week, as Limes FC secured a 2-1 win over Duppie White Delights, capitalising on previous leaders Demba 9 Ba being beaten 1-0 by a last gasp Sevilla Lacatalent goal.  Cesc Pistols moved up to third place and level with second after they ran out 2-0 winners over Wyld Stallyns in a disciplined performance, whilst Leavemyarselona stay outside of the drop zone as they were 4-2 winners against Baldeaux.

Division Three leaders Limes FC 2 played fellow promotion hopefuls Double Pogba and Koke this week, with neither being able to take the initiative as they shared a point a piece in a goalless draw.  That result did Return of the Shack a favour as they moved a point clear of third, their fifth win on the spin coming in the form of a 4-1 result against Newolvabora.  HStikkytokky completed the action in the division as they piled on the misery for strugglers Ooff FC whom they thrashed by a 6-1 scoreline.

Division Two leaders 6 Men 1 Cup continue their strong season as they thrashed Deportivo La Cannock by a 6-1 score line this week, moving them three points clear of second placed Ball of Duty who were beaten 1-0 against Haven't Got One Yet.   Third placed Fiveways took advantage of that result and were 3-2 winners in an entertaining game against Cross Bar-celona.  The Pitmen rounded off the action as they won a seven goal thriller against OB City by 4 goals to 3.
