Wednesday 1st March - Cannock Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Cannock Wednesday 6 a side league this week which saw all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled across all five divisions for game week 2 of the season!  The only exception to this was a late cancellation from Newstead FS who return on Wednesday 8th March.

Belt Road made it 2 wins from 2 in the Premier Division this week with a second consecutive 5-0 win, this time overcoming Ideal FC in comfortable fashion.  Banglasesh stay unbeaten and followed up last weeks win with a 3-3 draw against Athletic Bilswan in an entertaining encounter, whilst Oriental Delight suffered a surprise 5-2 reverse at the hands of Phil My Teet.

Fountain lead a trio of teams on maximum points in Division One, they won a thrilling game against Cat Zouma by 4 goals to 3, whilst Donk II edged past Nutmeg 2-1 and Winding Wheel scored an impressive 4-2 victory over Shameless 6!  Double Pogba and Coke recovered from a heavy defeat last week to secure the points in a 3-2 victory against Mables Spartans.

Warehouse Warriors have had an unbeaten start to the campaign in Division Two, claiming a rampant 9-3 win against Queens Park Strangers this week, whilst Champagne Super Rovers were impressive 4-0 winners over HStikkytokky.  Other action saw Demba 9 Ba stroll to a 6-3 win against Strongbow Unathletic to give them an unbeaten start, whilst Shady FC and Traff shared a point apiece in a 1-1 draw as both have drew their opening two of the season!

Division Three looks set to be equally competitive as Wyld Stallyns lead the way at this early stage following their 5-2 hammering of Unathletico Madrid.  No Name FC are another team with an unbeaten start as they followed up last weeks draw with a 4-2 victory against Ball of Duty, whilst 6Men1Cup won by the same scoreline against Limes FC.  OB City got off the mark for the season following defeat last week, they were 2-0 victors against Baldeaux.

Newolvabora have had a solid start to their Division Four campaign and beat new boys Rigfix FC 3-1 this week in a well drilled performance, whilst KFC Wimbledon came from behind to win a seven goal thriller against Fiveways by 4 goals to 3!  Elsewhere, Limes FC 2 and Cannock Town United got off the mark for the season, Limes winning 2-0 against Wycombe Tit Village and Cannock Town securing the points with a hard earned 2-1 victory against Haven't Got One Yet.

We thank all teams for their continued reliability and commitment towards the league which keeps the league running on time and smoothly each week too.  As ever, if you have any queries regarding the league, you can contact Shaun at Head Office on 0333 123 2340.
