Wednesday 20th September - Cannock and Hednesford Round-Up

It was another good evening's football in the Cannock and Hednesford Wednesday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled, the only exception being a cancellation from 6Men1Cup who've now withdrawn.

We are delighted to confirm that such is the popularity of this league, we have a new team confirmed to replace the above.  We wish new boys One Pitch One Love good luck going into their first fixture on Wednesday 27th September, as they line up against Ideal FC.

In the Premier League, Jimmy Sevilla FC edged out Bangladesh FC 3-2 in a nail-biting match, while Exeter Gentley dominated Newstead FC with a resounding 5-0 victory. Donk II showcased their attacking prowess by trouncing Oriental Delight 7-2, and Toby Minton FC triumphed over TomBolas FC, finishing the game 4-1.

Moving to Division 1, IDEAL FC shutout Clarence F.C. 3-0, while Athletic Bilswan notched an impressive 6-2 victory over Nutmeg City. The Winding Wheel FC, however, were defeated 5-3 in a highly contested match against Shameless 6!

Division 2 saw Double Pogba and Coke put on an offensive masterclass, defeating Baldeaux 6-2. DCF United overcame HSTIKKYTOKKY 4-2, while Borrussia Teeth eked out a 4-3 win against Kingsmead Fc. Mable's Spartans and Limes FC clashed in a tight match that ended in a 1-1 draw.

In Division 3, Cannock Town United FC narrowly lost to Limes FC 2 by a single goal. Haven't Got One Yet managed a slender 1-0 victory over Manresa VI. In a high-scoring showdown, Heath Haze defeated Newolvabora 4-3, and UnAthletico Madrid cruised to a 5-1 win against Strongbow Unathletic.

Division 4 saw Netsix N Chill edge out Five Ways 2-1, while Limes FC 3 and Norton Wanderers played to a 3-3 draw. In other games, Hednesford City and Real Sociopaths drew 1-1, and Wycombe Tit Village ran out 5-0 winners over Wyld Stallyns.

The top goal-scorers of this week were Donk II from the Premier League, Athletic Bilswan from Division 1, Double Pogba and Coke from Division 2, Heath Haze from Division 3, and Wycombe Tit Village from Division 4.

With plenty of games remaining, the league tables can still change dramatically. We look forward to next week's fixtures and more exceptional performances from all teams involved.
