Wednesday 23rd November - Cannock Round-Up

It was another excellent evening's football in the Cannock Wednesday 6 a side league this week, which saw all teams in attendance for their matches across all five divisions once again, including new teams 'Spartans' and 'Fountain' who played their first matches with us in Division Two!

There were no surprises in the top v bottom clash in the Premier Division as Exeter Gently ran out 4-2 winners over Cat Zouma to keep their place at the summit, they sit two points clear of the competition.  Nutmeg City now occupy second place as they moved above Athletic Bilswan who they beat 2-0 in a disciplined performance, whilst Phil My Teet got back to winning ways and kept a clean sheet after conceding 10 last week, they were 3-0 winners over Mable's Spartans.  Ideal FC secured their second win on the spin after a slow start as they were 4-2 victors against Banglasesh.

Oriental Delight showed their class as they stay top of Division One with a comprehensive 9-1 win over bottom side Limes FC, whilst second placed Newstead ran out 4-2 victors over Winding Wheel.  Third placed Belt Road remain level with the team above them as they cruised to a 5-2 win over Shameless 6.  Duppie White Delights completed the action for the division with their second win, and clean sheet in a row, they were 1-0 winners against Traff FC.

Double Pogba and Coke lead the way in Division Two after they were rampant 14-2 winners over new boys Spartans to boost their goal difference considerably in the process, whilst Baldeaux remain hot on the leaders heels as they got a third win in a row, beating Limes FC 2 by a 3-2 scoreline.  Donk II moved up a place to third, leapfrogging Demba 9 Ba who they put to the sword by 8 goals to 2 this week.  Elsewhere new boys Fountain look a good addition to the league, they eventually ran out 4-3 winners over Cesc Pistols with a last minute goal securing the victory, after having squandered a 3-0 lead earlier in the game!

Division Three sees Strongbow Unathletic lead the way after they beat Return of The Shack handsomely by 6 goals to 2, seeing them sit two points clear of the three teams below them who are tied on 6 points apiece.  6Men1Cup moved up to second after an impressive 6-1 win over Shady FC, whilst Ball of Dity sit third after a disciplined performance yielded a 2-0 win over Wyld Stallyns.  Performance of the night in the division saw HStikkytokky run out 11-0 winners against strugglers KFC Wimbledon.

In Division Four, new boys No Name FC made it 4 wins from 5 matches as they saw off Cross Bar-Celona by a comfortable 3-0 scoreline.  OB City sit in second spot after a hard earned 1-0 win over Fiveways, whilst Haven't Got One Yet move up to third at the expense of Newolvabora whom they beat 4-2.  Cardi AC Arrest moved off the bottom at the expense of Deportivo La Cannock who they cruised past to a 3-0 victory.

We thank all teams for their continued commitment and reliability towards the league and wish all good luck going into game week 6 with Cannock's premier providers of small sided football!
