It was another fantastic evening's football in the Cannock Wednesday 6 a side league this week, with all 40 teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled and some superb matches played across all five divisions!

Premier Division leaders Nutmeg City were made to work for the win this week as Banglasesh pushed them all the way in a thrilling game which ended 6-4 to the top team.  Exeter Gently stay in second place and two points off the pace as they edged past Ideal FC in a well competed game, 2-1 the final score, whilst Cat Zouma moved into third place with a 3-0 win over Mables Spartans, leapfrogging Athletic Bilswan who were beaten 1-0 by Shoal Hill Tavern in a tightly contested match!

Oriental Delight extended their perfect record into a seventh week as we reach the halfway point of the season, they were 6-2 winners over 5-Ways FC.  Shameless 6 and Newstead continue to battle it out for second spot as both remain level on points, Shameless sit in second on goal difference and were 2-1 winners over Blewitt FC, whilst Newstead FS were 3-1 victors against Randy Bin Men, a result which also allowed Baldeaux to move out of the bottom two as they were 5-1 winners against new boys Romasexuals.

SMC FC went to the top of Division Two this week after they were 3-1 winners over Huntington FC, whilst previous leaders Inter Yanan dropped to second as they were held to a 1-1 draw against third placed Traff FC who also have hopes of promotion.  Leavemyarsealona remain in fourth spot as they won a seven goal thriller against Cesc Pistols 4-3, whilst Strongbow moved further from the drop zone with a 7-1 hammering of Limes FC!

Wyld Stallyns drpped from top to third in Division Three which remains tight as ever, they shared the spoils with Demba 9 Ba who sit fourth.  Newolvabora are the new leaders after a convincing 5-0 win over Fiveways, whilst Double Pogba and Koke now sit second as they beat Sevilla Lacatalent 3-1, the top five teams still separated by a solitary point.  Cross Bar-celona completed the action and moved level on points with Limes FC 2 whom they beat 1-0 this week as they bid to stay in the division.

Division Four leaders Pique Blinders looked comfortable this week, thrashing Deportivo La Cannock by 6 goals to 1, they clicked into gear after Deportivo grabbed an equaliser to shock them.  HStikkytokky moved up to second place following a 5-1 win over 6 Men 1 Cup, whilst Ooff FC went into third position, moving above Haven't Got One Yet who they beat 1-0.  Ball of Duty and The Pitmen completed the action in the final game of the night as neither side could grab a winner in a well competed game which ended 1 a piece.

We thank all teams for their continued reliability and commitment to the league and look forward to seeing all in attendance for game week 8 with Cannock's premier providers of small sided football!
