Wednesday 26th January - Cannock Round-Up

It was another fantastic evening's action in the Cannock Wednesday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for their matches as scheduled, with the only exception being Ball of Duty who have since confirmed their return to action for next week.

Murder on Zidane's Floor went top of the Premier Division, leapfrogging this weeks opponents whom they beat in a 9 goal thriller, Zidane running out 5-4 winners.  Exeter Gently dropped points for the first time this season, letting a lead slip against Banglasesh who eventually ran out 3-1 winners in an impressive comeback.  Elsewhere, SMC and Ideal FC could not be separated as the two teams played out an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Decorer stay top of the Division One table as they were convincing 4-0 winners over Mables Spartans, whilst Pye Green Massive moved up to second place with a 2-2 draw against Shameless 6 in a closely poised division.  Oriental Delight were 7-0 winners over Strongbow Unathletic this week in an unforgiving performance, moving them into third place, whilst Newstead FC join the quartet of teams now sitting on 5 points as they beat bottom of the table Limes FC 3-1.

Athletico Madras stay top of Division Two but were humbled this week as they lost their perfect start to the campaign to Leavemyarselona who were bottom before the game, they were convincing 4-1 winners as they get their season up and running.  Baldeaux moved into second spot with a 3-0 win over Limes FC 2, whilst Traff FC slip to third after a heavy 5-1 defeat to Vic FC.  Teenage Mutant Ninja Skrtels bounced back from defeat last week as they also won 5-1 against Wyld Stallyns who slip to the foot of the table.

The Cesc Pistols 100% start to the season extended into week 4 this week, they were made to work hard by an experienced Newolvabora side though, eventually running out 1-0 winners.  Inter Yanan stay in second place, collecting their third win in four in the form of a hard fought 3-2 victory over Demba 9 Ba. New boys Mick Bustin's Boys had a tough start to life in the league as Sevilla Lacatalent were taking no prisoners, they thrashed the debutants by a 10-0 score line to stay in third place.

Capri Sun stay top of Division Four and recorded another impressive score line this week as they thrashed Deportivo La Cannock 6-0 in a game they controlled from start to finish.  Cross Bar-celona moved back into second spot as they recovered from last weeks defeat with a 3-1 victory against Gangsters Allardyce, whilst Hstikkytokky dropped to third as they drew 4-4 with Borussia Teeth in a thrilling end to end encounter which either side could've won!  Haven't Got One Yet complete a trio of teams on 5 points after they were 2-0 winners over The Pitmen.

We are pleased to see the league running as smoothly as it is at present and thank all of our teams for their continued reliability and commitment to ensure this is the case.  As ever, if you have any queries regarding the league you can contact Shaun at Head Office on 0333 123 2340.
