Wednesday 4th May - Cannock Round-Up

It was another good evening's football in the Cannock Wednesday 6 a side league this week, which saw all teams in attendance for their matches throughout the night as scheduled, barring Exeter Gently and Randy Bin Men who had given 7 days notice which we thank them for, and return to action as normal on Wednesday 11th May.

Nutmeg City went to the top of the Premier Division in the absence of Exeter Gently this week as they ran out 7-1 winners over Fever's Finest, whilst Ideal FC moved into third position as they were 4-0 winners against Mable's Spartans.  Athletic Bilswan and Cat Zouma could not be separated as the two shared the spoils in a goalless draw.

Division One sees Oriental Delight remain top of the pile as they strolled to an 8-1 win over Vic FC, with Shameless sitting second and also remaining on maximum points after their 5-0 win this week.  Newstead FS moved into third place as their recent form improves, they recorded a 3-2 win over Baldeaux in an entertaining fixture, whilst 5-Ways FC and Blewitt played out a closely competed 1-1 draw.

Inter Yanan got back to winning ways this week and were 5-1 winners against Limes FC to move to the top of the Division Two table which is looking very close.  SMC FC moved up to second place with a convincing 5-2 win over Traff FC who dropped from top to fourth this week.  Leavemyarselona moved into third position with a 3-2 win against Huntington FC in a closely competed game.  The Cesc Pistols and Strongbow Unathletic could not be separated as the two played out a 1-1 draw.

In Division Three, Double Pogba and Coke were 3-2 winners over Cross Bar-Celona to maintain their perfect record since promotion, which gives them a 2 point lead at the top after Sevilla Lacatalent were beaten 2-0 by a disciplined Newolvabora.  Wyld Stallyns climbed into third position after a hard earned 3-1 win against Limes FC 2, whilst Demba 9 Ba are another of the three teams locked on four points so far after beating Five Ways 4-2.

Pique Blinders lead the way in Division Four after a third win on the spin, this time beating Ooff FC 3-0, they are joined on six points by second placed Haven't Got One Yet who were 3-2 winners over Ball of Duty and HStikkytokky who beat The Pitmen 3-1.  In the battle of the bottom two, Deportivo La Cannock came from 4-1 down to rescue a 4-4 draw with three goals in the final five minutes to cap of a scintillating encounter!

We thank all teams for their continued reliability and commitment to the league which ensures the league runs smoothly on a weekly basis.
