Cannock and Hednesford Wednesday 6-a-side League Kicks Off with Thrilling Matches!


Cannock and Hednesford's exclusive small-sided football operator, Leisure Leagues, was back in full swing as the new season commenced on Wednesday, 7th June. With a wave of excitement, the league welcomed three new teams to the action: Toby Minton FC, Expected Toulouse, and Lotto Juniors, each poised to make their mark in their respective divisions.


Premier Division:


In a clash of newly promoted teams, Donk II faced off against Cat Zouma in an intense battle. The match was a rollercoaster of excitement, with both sides displaying their attacking prowess. However, Cat Zouma's determination proved decisive as they emerged victorious with a 5-3 win over Donk II.


Ideal FC and Bangladesh FC squared off in an entertaining encounter. Despite Ideal FC's valiant efforts, Bangladesh FC demonstrated their mettle and secured a well-deserved 4-2 victory.


Exeter Gentley and Belt Road locked horns in a hard-fought contest. Belt Road's resilience and clinical finishing allowed them to claim a 3-1 triumph, leaving Exeter Gentley to regroup and come back stronger in the next round of fixtures.


Division One:


Shameless 6! and Champagne Super Rovers kicked off their Division One campaign with a closely contested match. In a battle between last season's Division Two champions and a seasoned team, Champagne Super Rovers showed their quality, securing a narrow 1-0 victory.


Norty Badgers, a newly promoted side, displayed great potential in their clash against Newstead FS. Despite their valiant efforts, Norty Badgers narrowly missed out on victory, succumbing to a 4-3 defeat.


Oriental Delight and Double Pogba and Coke engaged in a thrilling encounter, showcasing their attacking flair. Oriental Delight emerged triumphant with a 3-2 scoreline, leaving Double Pogba and Coke to reflect on their performance and regroup for the upcoming fixtures.


Phil My Teet, recently relegated from the Premier Division, faced a challenging task against newly promoted Demba 9 Ba. In a stunning turn of events, Demba 9 Ba dominated the match, delivering an emphatic 6-0 victory and surprising their opponents.


Division Two:


The Winding Wheel FC and Hstikkytokky went head-to-head in a closely fought contest. Both teams displayed their determination, but it was The Winding Wheel FC who claimed a narrow 3-2 victory, leaving Hstikkytokky eager to bounce back in the next round.


Toby Minton FC, making their debut in Division Two, put on an impressive display against Baldeaux. Despite their inexperience, Toby Minton FC showcased their potential, but Baldeaux narrowly emerged victorious with a 3-2 scoreline.


Snorting Lisbon faced off against Mable's Spartans, aiming to secure a positive start to the season. Mable's Spartans showcased their prowess and emerged with a hard-fought 2-0 victory, leaving Snorting Lisbon to reassess their strategy moving forward.


Shady FC clashed with No Name FC, who were newly promoted after an impressive start last season. Despite No Name FC's previous success, they struggled to find their rhythm, ultimately suffering a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Shady FC.


Division Three:


Strongbow Unathletic and DCF United engaged in an end-to-end thriller that had fans on the edge of their seats. With both teams displaying attacking intent, DCF United emerged as the victors with a narrow 3-2 scoreline.


Unathletico Madrid faced off against 6Men1Cup, eager to secure a positive start to their campaign. Unathletico Madrid proved to be the dominant force, securing an impressive 5-1 victory and setting the tone for their season.


Limes FC and Haven't Got One Yet engaged in a closely fought encounter. Both teams demonstrated their capabilities, but it was Haven't Got One Yet who emerged with a well-deserved 3-1 victory.


Newolvabora displayed promise against Expected Toulouse who were making their league debuts. In an encouraging performance, a much changed Newolvabora secured a 3-1 victory, leaving Expected Toulouse eager to bounce back in the coming matches.


Division Four:


Wycombe Tit Village and Five Ways treated spectators to an action-packed encounter. Both teams showcased their attacking flair, but it was Five Ways who proved more clinical, securing a 4-2 victory over Wycombe Tit Village.


Netsix N Chill faced off against Hednesford City, aiming to start their campaign on a positive note. Netsix N Chill displayed their dominance, securing a convincing 4-1 win.


In a game featuring another debut team, Lotto Juniors took on Limes FC 2. Despite leading for most of the match, Lotto Juniors conceded two quick goals, allowing Limes FC 2 to snatch a late 2-1 victory.


Wyld Stallyns and Cannock Town United FC locked horns in a defensive battle that ended in a goalless draw. Both teams showcased their defensive prowess, leaving the match without a clear winner.
