Alton 6 a side league off to a flyer

The brand new Alton 6-a-side league kicked off in style at Alton Football Club last night in sweltering conditions, with a fantastic evening of fast-paced football as all teams arrived for grading games to determine their division placements for the upcoming season. Despite the heat, every team brought energy, commitment, and a brilliant attitude, setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting season ahead.

There were some standout performances across the board, but none more impressive than The Grey Friars, who made a huge early statement with an emphatic 8-1 win over Hiccup FC.

Not far behind were Fresh Shads, who looked sharp and organised in their 5-0 victory over Kickabout FC.

Sporting Bad Knees, A3 Milan, and We Do Not Make Footballers also impressed in their opening fixtures, claiming solid wins over Iran Away From Bill (3-0), Alton Bulldogs (4-1), and Barely Athletic (3-1) respectively.

Arguably the most eye-catching story of the night came from Queens Park Strangers. Formed just days ago from individual sign-ups, this new team gelled instantly and battled to a hard-fought 2-0 win over Iron Chin FC — a fantastic start to their journey.
