In an electrifying week of football action, the Alton Sunday 6-A-Side Football League kicked off its fourth week, with teams from the Premier League and Division 1 divisions battling it out on the field.
In the illustrious Premier League, A3 Milan clashed with Fresh Shads, resulting in a thrilling 3-1 victory for Fresh Shads. The Grey Friars showcased their football prowess, outplaying Sporting Bad Knees with a resounding 5-1 victory. The Premier League this season has indeed been a spectacle of top-tier football, with Fresh Shads and The Grey Friars emerging as notable contenders.
Meanwhile, in the fiercely competitive Division 1, Alton Bulldogs faced off against Barely Athletic. The Bulldogs, in a showcase of offensive prowess, emerged victorious with a 5-2 win. Kickabout FC and Hiccup FC ended in a deadlock with a 1-1 draw, a testament to their equally matched skills. Iron Chin FC and Iran Away From Bill delivered a high-scoring match, with both teams sharing points in a 3-3 draw.
However we were disappointed to hear of an incident in this game that has resulted in Cameron from Iran Away From Bill receiving a ban. Individually, the top scorers for each division have left an indelible mark on this season. In the Premier League, the top scorer remains a closely contested title, but the players from Fresh Shads and The Grey Friars have shown considerable promise. In Division 1, the players from Alton Bulldogs, Kickabout FC, and Iron Chin FC have been delivering stellar performances, making them the ones to watch this season.
With each passing week, the bar of competition in the Alton Sunday 6-A-Side Football League is being raised, and viewers can look forward to more exhilarating matches as the season progresses.
