5 a side football is back!

Yes we are finally back people, finally back out on that 3G surface again on Thursday nights at Aqua Vale swimming & fitness centre.

The big questions is- were you as rusty and unfit as you were expecting or did you actually pleasantly surprise yourself, especially considering it was your first night back out on the pitch?

The good news it that the league is full, all teams were in attendance and I was very impressed with how organised you all were with your online payment to help us stop the handling of cash, so thank you team captains!

TEAM OF THE WEEK!

With an 8-3 victory on the first night back, we decided that the bragging rights for this week belonged to Changes Barbershop. The main man really set an example and put in a MOTM performance, which is exactly what you want to see from your team captain, so congratulations to Aaran Ness on really catching the referees eye! Even though Aaron deserves his credit for a brilliant solo performance, the whole team really put in a shift and very much deserved the victory! It was definitely a game they would back themselves to win, but take nothing away from the solid performance and getting the job done comfortably!

MOTM AWARDS!

Charlie Hine - Exeter Gently - Charlie was crucial for his team getting the win on Thursday night and was vital for his team getting their first win of the season!

Kieran Best - Watermead FC - Kieran was another player that really turned on the class for his teams first game back on Thursday, especially in front of goal!

Sabeen Gurung - Wendover Fc - This is very impressive from Sabeen, not only has he lead by example as team captain and put in a MOTM performance, but this is their first game of the league, so to put in such a strong performance and come away with a win on your first game deserves  some serious respect!

Next week we will be recording Golden boot, so make sure you tell the referee your full name when you score to ensure your goal goes on the leaderboard.
