Redditch Sunday weekly match report 21/11

We enjoyed a great night to kick off the brand new season at the Redditch Sunday 6-a-side league at Arrow Vale Sports Centre, with all teams in attendance as scheduled. We saw Mywillianyourmom and We Leno Goals In both receive their prizes in the trophy presentation from last season.

Match Report:

In the first game of the night we saw FC Copenbadly face over against Murder on Zidanes Floor, formerly Lads on Toure. It was an instant classic to kick off the new season, as Murder narrowly finished 6-5 after going 4-1 up at one point.  Goals from ex-captain Jack Livingstone, 2 from Kieron Stokes, Jack Ellis and another brace from Cam Hawkley secured the opening day win.

Next up saw an absolutely mammoth classic as last season's top two, Leno and Willian, went to war. Willian took an early lead in the game with a goal from Toby Cooke, but then spent much of the rest of the game in defensive mode as they parked the bus against Leno. Leno ultimately came out on top though, as they finally broke down Willian's defensive, despite a brilliant performance from the Willian's keeper.  Captain Reegan Morris, Dan Cooper and a Jamie Bralee hat-trick gave Leno a 5-1 win.

Third game of the night saw two veteran Redditch teams go face to face as Sons of Pitches and Scouting For Goals, who have the honour of being the longest serving team in the league, faced off. It was an ultimately Sons who finishes as victors, with goals from Jack Ellis and Ellis Lafan giving them a 2-0 victory to start the season.

Temper Gas United started the season with the points match victory, meaning they take early bragging rights as the top placed team.
