AXMINSTER 6 A SIDE - WEDNESDAY NIGHT ROUND UP

Our Wednesday night 6 a side league leaders in Axminster increased the gap between themselves and the rest last night as the week four results all worked in their favour. Having picked up a 3 - 2 win themselves over Portsmuff, leaders Lionel Moosey then saw 2nd placed Staro and 3rd placed Farmers Weekly battle out a tense 2 - 2 draw that saw both sides lose ground in the title race. Crouch Potatoes and 6 A Cider also grabbed a point each in another great contest that ended 1 - 1 to get a 1st point on the board for both sides. 

The opposite happened in Division One where Leaders Uplyme and Sinker were the ones who dropped a point having been held to 2 - 2 by The Roys. Vikings capitalised and closed the gap to just a point with a good 5 - 2 win over Nice to Michu. A & C Dads picked up a useful 2 points with their 2 - 1 win over Foxes to wrap up an entertaining night of 6 a side football in Axminster. 

As always it's a big thank you to Lance and his team of refs this week as well as to the players and especially the captains for getting everyone organised for their games. 

It looks like another excellent season is developing here and it's going to be exciting to see how it unfolds over the coming weeks.
