TITLE GOING TO THE WIRE IN AXMINSTER 6 A SIDE

Our Axminster league continues to throw up great drama as the Wednesday night title race looks to be going to the wire following this weeks results from Axminster Leisure Centre.

Leaders Crouch Potatoes have seen their lead at the top hacked down to just one point following their defeat to title rivals Portsmuff. Sam Bond did the damage with both goals for The Muffs while a Simon Smith goal was in vein to leave things beautifully poised ahead of the last few weeks of the season. It's still Crouch Potatoes to lose as they have a point advantage but a tough game next week against A.I FC could give them reason for concern if Portsmuff back up this great performance with another win next week. That won't be easy either though as they face an inform Farmers Weekly who will be coming off the back of a good 2 - 1 win against A.I FC themselves, Darren Andrews and Danny Reed on target for the Farmers while Uplyme & Sinker ensured 6 A Cider remain rooted to the bottom with a 3 - 0 win over them thanks in part to 2 goals from Brad.

Division One looks tight too although Nice To Michu seem to be edging closer to a comfortable promotion to the top flight having picked up a 5 - 0 points win last night, right behind them, 3 points back are Lads on Tour and The Roys, Lads on Tour taking over 2nd place last night with a great 4 - 2 win over A&C Dads while The Roys came unstuck against 4th placed Vikings, going down 8 - 2 thanks to 4 goals from Ethan Mathews. So 2 of the top 3 will make the cut to play in the prem next season, we will find out who over the next few weeks. Exciting league this, well done to everyone involved, especially Lance and his team of refs.
