New Gosport Wednesday 6 a side season kicks off!

In the first week of the new season, the Gosport Wednesday 6-a-side Football League kicked off with some exciting games in both the Premier League and Division 1.

PREMIER LEAGUE  

In the Premier League, The Untouchaballs made a strong start to the season with a 2-0 victory over Van Brockhurst. Murder on Zidanes Floor also put in an impressive performance with a 5-0 win against The Breadrins Curse FC, where Nathan Findley emerged as the top scorer of the division with two crucial goals. The Tekkerslovakia and South Coast Vikings match was a nail-biter, ending in a thrilling 3-3 draw.

DIVISION ONE  

Moving to Division 1, the games were equally competitive and engaging. Baines on Toast edged out Suck Umtities 3-1 in a closely contested match. Snatit FC started their campaign on a high note with a 6-2 win over Fish Fingers FC. Queens Park Strangers also registered a victory against Gosham FC, ending the match 4-2. However, the highlight of Division 1 was the dominant performance by Lizards On Tour, who started their season with a staggering 12-1 win over Lucky 7.

The standout player of the week was Connor Chester from Lizards On Tour, who netted an impressive 4 goals, making him the top scorer in Division 1. His exceptional performance rightfully earned him the title of the most valued player of the week.

Overall, the league's opening week has set the pace for a thrilling season ahead. Both divisions witnessed some exemplary football and it will be interesting to see how the teams adjust their strategies for the upcoming matches.
