Goals galore at Beversbrook six a side

From the first two weeks of the season in the new Leisure Leagues Calne Tuesday six a side from Beversbrook Sports Facility it has become clear that teams have 1 philosophy - attack is the best form of defence!

For the spectator this ensured that all the games were fantastic with end to end action from start to finish. The game of the night was undoubtedly the match between the Rushes and RichTeaWellens. With only seconds to go the scores were tied at 2-2. After a disappointing result last week RichTea were keen to get back to winning ways and so pushed for the win. Every single player was committed to the attack which broke down when captain Jack Kearns had the ball taken off of him. The break was on and The Rushes striker had all the time in the world to pick his spot. He calmly slotted the ball home to the despair of RichTea and their fans.

New teams Dads Dream Team Reborn and Fitness Box FC both showed glimpses of their potential with impressive wins over Chicken Tikka Mo Salah. For Fitness Box this was a points match so they were guaranteed the 5-0 win anyway but it was the manner of their win and the intensity of their play that will have pleased captain Joe Jefferies so much. The same can be said for Dads Dream Team. They looked well organised at the back and have good finishes up top that left keeper James Harris no chance. Both of these teams have no quickly climbed the table and have great chances of claiming the inaugural trophy in the Calne six a side.

In the final game of the night Netsix and Chill also underlined their potential with a good win against HOLO FC. They are another team in this league that has fitness in abundance and great attacking talent. They will be concerned about conceding two goals on the break though and will need to concentrate on making sure they guard against the counter attack in future weeks. However, HOLO FC were left ruing their missed chances which included a wonderful strike on the half volley that glanced off the post and wide. Captain Lewis Sheehan believed that a point was well within their capabilities but that defensive errors at the back cost them.

Thanks for another great night lads! See you next week!!!
