Burntwood Monday 6 a side news 2023-10-16

In a dazzling display of football finesse, Burntwood Monday's 6-a-side league entered its 17th week, with teams from across three divisions clashing in a series of thrilling matches. Here’s how the teams across the Premier League, Division 1, and Division 2 performed in this nail-biting penultimate week of games!

In the Premier League, Ray Priests secured a clean 2-0 victory over Victoria FC, showing a strong defensive line. Boca Seniors, however, stole the show with a 10-1 thrashing of Poms United in an electrifying performance. Relegation can't come soon enough for these boys!

In a tightly contested match, The Gradient edged out Burntwood FC 3-2, demonstrating impressive resilience. Given the emphatic rivalry and the weight behind this all-important top of the table clash, this goes down as my Match of the Day choice! It's very interesting looking at that table now...

Over in Division 1, the Purple Cobras FC narrowly defeated 2 Goals 1 Cup with a 3-2 win, showcasing their attacking prowess. Earning their first win with us whilst only having 5 players for the bulk of the 30! FC Prodigies found themselves on the receiving end of a 2-1 defeat against a determined Norfolkinchance.

In other news, Sheffield Monday lost 2-1 to Harriers, while Soup King FC delighted their fans with a 3-1 victory over Chasetown Seniors. Polishing off a very remarkable season for them indeed!

Into Division 2, Fat Knacker And Co battled Kepa Clean Sheet, with the latter clinching a tight 3-2 win - A real upset! Although it could be said that the Knackers are Knackered and have taken their foot off the gas??

Furthermore, Not In Ya Mums Forest overcame Unathletico Madrid 2-1, demonstrating their competitive edge, while WIP FC secured a comfortable 4-1 victory over Monday Warriors.

Plus we had some meaty friendly matches to boot as well! Making last night a very enjoyable evening of footie all round. A big thank you to you all for playing.

As we move into our final week of this season, the stakes are high and the competition fierce. Each team will be looking to improve upon their performance and make their final shunt up the league tables. Stay tuned for more captivating football action in just 7 days time...

Don't forget, next season rolls on the very Monday after this season ends. Making right now the best time for you to sign you and your football driven mates up for some great weekly fun. Entry is still only £30 and we only have a few spaces remaining for next season so get a move on!
