The second week of the Burntwood Monday 6-a-side Football League saw thrilling encounters across all three divisions - Premier League, Division 1, and Division 2, with several teams showcasing their mettle in an evening of high octane football.
In the Premier League, Boca Seniors emerged victorious against Ray Priests with a meaty 3-1 win, while Burntwood FC's dominant performance concluded with an 11-1 thrashing of Trooper FC, well, at least the new lads (stemming from a former extinct team) got on the scoresheet.
Pete Always Scores Bangers edged out Victoria FC in a close match, ending 2-1. Fair play to Victoria for their efforts against the reigning champs, as they look to hit the ground running this season too!
Moving onto Division 1, it was a night of surprises and upsets. WIP FC started the night with a clean 3-0 win against Sheffield Monday. Fat Knacker And Co played out of their skins to clinch a 4-0 victory over Harriers.
Meanwhile, Wheel FC showed their prowess in a 6-2 win against Poms United. Norfolkinchance had a strikingly identical 6-2 win over The CTL Elite, while 2 Goals 1 Cup and FC Prodigies ended in a fiercely contested 3-3 draw. Match of the Day material right there!
In Division 2, the Purple Cobras FC snaked their way to a 3-2 win against Patty Freaks FC. Just Bloata began their season on a high note with a 6-1 win against Kepa Clean Sheet. Not In Ya Mums Forest and Boat Inn Rovers played to a goalless draw. A rarity in our Monday League yet still an exciting contest nonetheless!
Norton FC secured a narrow 1-0 win against MONDAY WARRIORS, as two former Sunday teams met once again, while Scrambled Legs scrambled to a 4-3 victory against Unathletico Madrid. Absolutely gutting for Unathletico who were perhaps shaken by their earlier than usual kick off slot...
As the league enters its third week, the stakes are higher than ever with teams battling for supremacy.
