Football fever took over Burntwood last night, as week 11 of the popular Monday Football League unfolded with a series of highly competitive matches across various divisions. A huge night, as we officially launched our mini 5th division for the newbies! These teams will make up a huge season which kicks off in just 4 weeks time!!
In the Premier League division, the Bunch Of Scruffs continued their winning streak, defeating Sheffield Monday with a score of 2-0. Meanwhile, Scrambled Legs came out victorious against The CTL Elite 3-0, while Burntwood FC dominated the field with an impressive 8-3 win over RAWNSLEY RANGERS. They look set to reclaim that long awaited title!
In Division 1, Harriers displayed an impressive performance, securing a 5-2 win over Patty Freaks FC. Stroke Tity FC continued to impress their fans with a 6-0 win over Basic FC. Meanwhile, at the crest of the table, we find this weeks MotD! It was top vs second with Norton looking to create breathing space, and VMG looking to close in on 1st. In the end it was Norton FC triumphed over Victor Moses Garden with a 7-3 victory. Outstanding!
The competition heated up in Division 2, with a 1-1 draw between Donny On Da Beek and Burntwood Ballers FC. Soup King FC managed to beat PSV Hangover 3-0, while games between Karius To Glory and Whopper Walsh and Kepa Clean Sheet and Diddys Dribblers ended with scores of 2-2 and 4-1 respectively. This one remains wide open! :o
In Division 3, Pro Clubs Irl and Queen Park Strangers ended their game in a 1-1 draw. Broadfield FC edged out 2nd place FCDapperGirls with a crucial 3-2 victory. Can anyone catch them now? Class On Grass could be the answer to that question, as they edged past Future Stars via a single goal, while Davos Diddy Party lost 2-1 to Trooper FC. Some upsets and some triumphs to behold…
Division 5 kicked off with 2 games, the highlight of which was Toe Poke Athletic’s 3-2 victory over new lads Barely Athletic. A cracking start for them, are they the ones to watch!?
