In an electrifying week nine of the Burntwood Monday 6-a-side football league, teams across the Premier League, Division 1, and Division 2 divisions showcased their skill and determination on the field.
In the Premier League division, it was an intense evening with Bunch Of Scruffs and Burntwood FC battling it out, ending in a 1-1 draw. The competition was just as heated between Sheffield Monday and Lattos Toy Boys, with the teams tying at 2-2. Both of these results meaning that nobody could capitalise and land a firm grin on top spot! The unlikely Sheffield remain as top dogs! However, Scrambled Legs managed to upstage Norton FC in a brilliant 5-2 victory, securing their position as 3rd in the division. Above their friends Burntwood FC for the first time in a while!
Division 1 saw Whopper Walsh narrowly beat Broadfield FC 2-1 in a thrilling match. Harriers showcased their prowess with a decisive 6-0 win against No Name FC. Karius To Glory secured a 2-0 victory against Monday Warriors, while FCDapperGirls and Patty Freaks FC displayed a commendable spirit, rightly earning them our Match of the Day title.. A cracking contest but these two just couldn’t be split, ending with the game locked in a 3-3 draw.
The competition in Division 2 was just as fierce. McGinn N Tonic dominated Trooper FC with a 6-1 triumph. Six Offenders managed a clean sweep with a 4-0 win against Diddys Dribblers, while Queen Park Strangers narrowly edged out Pro Clubs Irl 1-0. PSV Hangover and Davos Diddy Party played a close game, with Davos Diddy Party securing a 2-1 victory. Lastly, the match between Kepa Clean Sheet and Diddy’s Baby Oil Plug resulted in a 1-1 draw.
Avid football fans are already eagerly awaiting the next week's matches, as the teams prepare to fight for their standings in the league. The Burntwood Monday 6-a-side Football league continues to provide a thrilling display of the local football talent.
