The eagerly anticipated Burntwood Monday 6-a-side Football League relaunched last night with a series of thrilling matches that set the tone for the season ahead. 4 exciting new divisions to feast upon!
In the Premier League Division, Burntwood FC took the spoils in a captivating 4-2 victory over Toe Poke Mafia. Not far behind, Lattos Toy Boys edged out The Grillbillies with a narrow 2-1 win, while Sheffield Monday claimed a hard-fought 1-0 triumph over Karius To Glory. Norton FC also got their season off to a flying start by beating Scrambled Legs 2-1.
Meanwhile, in Division 1, Broadfield FC was the lone team to claim a victory, outscoring Whopper Walsh 1-0. New boys Watto FC got up and running with a fun 2-0 win. And our newest entrants, Murder on Zindanes Floor will kick off their first game next Monday!
Over to Division 2, where Class On Grass displayed an impressive performance with a 5-0 thrashing of Trooper FC. In other matches, Diddys Dribblers clinched a 3-2 win against Pro Clubs Irl, Davos Diddy Party outplayed McGinn N Tonic 2-1, and Patty Freaks FC edged out Monday Warriors 2-1 in a closely contested match.
Finally, in Division 3, we find our Match of the Day! It featured Queen Park Strangers who kicked off their campaign with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Basic FC. Net Six And Chill FC celebrated a resounding 5-1 win against No Name FC, while P M T FC and Kepa Clean Sheet shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw.
As the season has just commenced, teams are jostling for early points. Top scorers are yet to emerge, though based on the opening matches, we anticipate a fiercely competitive season ahead. Stay tuned for more updates as the season unfolds!
