Monday 1st November - Burntwood Round-Up

It was a good evening's football in the Burntwood Monday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance for the first matches of the new season and some entertaining games played across all three divisions.

Pete Scores Bangers got off to a flying start this campaign as they thrashed Janine The Dream by a 9-0 scoreline, whilst Burntwood FC were 4-2 winners against last seasons champions Tea & Busquets.  Last seasons Runners-Up Six Offenders won by a single goal against newly promoted Chasetown Seniors to get their season off to a positive start, whilst The Gradient and Burntwood Dads shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw.

Monday Club flew out of the blocks against Mean Machine in Division One, hammering them by a 7-2 scoreline, whilst 8th Place FC and Unbelievable Jeff played out a nine goal thriller, in which 8th Place triumphed 6-3.  New team Bumfica joined the league for the new campaign and will be pleased with their first fixture as they recorded a 3-1 victory over Norfolkinchance.

In Division Two, The Dukes got off to a flyer as they were 4-0 victors over FC Bantalona.  Elsewhere Borussia Teeth were 5-3 winners in a thrilling encounter with Whale FC, whilst Obi Wan Bissaka edged past Inter Your Nan by 2 goals to 1.  Nothing could separate Second 2 None and Gabe Itches as they drew 1-1.

Mean Machine have now withdrawn from the league after playing out their withdrawal notice.  We have moved Janine The Dream into Division One as they have changed their team in recent weeks so this will be more suitable for them.
