Monday 28th February - Burntwood Round-Up

It was another good evening's football in the Burntwood Monday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance barring a late cancellation from Ajax Treesdown who we thank for contacting us and look forward to seeing return next week!

Pete Scores Bangers remain top of the Premier Division, recording their seventh win in nine this week as they coasted to a 3-0 win against Chasetown Seniors in the top v bottom clash.  Burntwood FC recovered from last weeks defeat as they were 7-4 winners against Tea and Busquets in an end to end clash!

Third placed Bumfica lost ground on the leaders as they were beaten 2-1 by a recently resurgent Gradient team who now sit four points off the top two as they look to bounce back further from their tough start to the campaign!  Burntwood Dads climbed off the foot of the table as they put in an impressive performance to run out 4-2 winners over The CTL Elite, whilst Janine The Dream and Largentina could not be separated in a game that ended 1 a piece.

There is a new leader in Division One as MV Kelly climbed to the top following a 2-0 win over The Dukes, whilst Another team slipped to second after a surprise 2-1 defeat against Second 2 None who now sit two points off the promotion places!  Elsewhere Norfolkinchance moved on to six points for the term, picking up their third win of the season in an entertaining 3-2 victory over Inter Your Nan.  FC Bantalona and Obi Wan Bissaka make up the bottom two in the division, and both remain in those places as they played out a 1-1 draw.

We thank all teams for their continued commitment and reliability and look forward to seeing all teams in attendance for the next round of fixtures with Burntwood's premier providers of small sided football!
