Monday 7th February - Burntwood Round-Up

It was another good evening's football in the Burntwood Monday 6 a side league this week, which saw all teams in attendance throughout the night as scheduled and some excellent football played across both divisions.

We saw new team Largentina join the league this week, and they picked up a positive result on their first week playing, beating The Gradient 2-0 in an impressive first performance!  Burntwood FC won the battle of the top two, beating previous leaders Pete Scores Bangers by a single goal to leapfrog them to the top of the table!  Bumfica remain in third and lost ground on the top two as they suffered a 3-1 reverse against The CTL Elite who looked impressive.  Elsewhere there were 4-0 wins for Tea and Busquets over Burntwood Dads and Janine The Dream against Chasetown Seniors.

Another Team FC stay top of Division One after an emphatic 8-1 win against The Dukes, they are now tailed by MV Kelly who moved into second place with a convincing 3-0 win against FC Bantalona.  Ajax Treesdown and Borussia Teeth dropped to third and fourth respectively after they were both held to 1-1 draws against Inter Your Nan and Second 2 None.  Norfolkinchance climbed to eighth place after beating Obi Wan Bissaka by a single goal, they drop to the foot of the table.

We are delighted to see the league running as smoothly as it is at present and thank all teams for their continued reliability and commitment to ensure this is the case.
