[Burntwood, 5th September 2023] – The highly anticipated Burntwood Sunday Football League got underway last night with an exhilarating display of skill and determination. In the first week of the season, teams from the Premier League and Division 1 battled it out on the pitch, providing fans with some thrilling moments.
In the Premier League, the Immortal Alphas faced off against 6 Elites, but it was 6 Elites who emerged victorious with a convincing 3-0 win. Meanwhile, MK Dongs dominated Maximum Effort FC, securing an impressive 8-0 victory. Will this set the tone for their upcoming campaign to be champions. With no more Mexican Smugglers and a fresh thinking new captain Steph - this could really be their shot!
Division 1 also saw some intense clashes. The Warriors took on Cardiac Saggy Breast and came out on top with a 3-1 triumph. Peek Eboue displayed their prowess on the field, defeating D.T.F.C with an identical 3-1 scoreline. The Ringers proved their mettle with a resounding 6-1 victory over Only Here For The Beer. A newly formed team by Andy which is off to a fine startlingly! Lastly, Ladzio Fc and Greggs On Legs played out a thrilling 1-1 draw, leaving both teams with a point to take into their next matches.

It was almost a full attendance yesterday, we hope next week to see all teams back which is fantastic! The plan is to also fill up those remaining empty league spaces in the next few weeks with some fresh talent - fear not!
