The Burntwood Sunday 6-a-side football league continued its thrilling journey this week with a set of exhilarating matches. The latest week of play marked the eighth week of the league, and as expected, it did not disappoint, delivering some thrilling footballing action for those in attendance.
Fans were left yearning for the excitement and the adrenaline that usually characterizes matches in this division! Today was a tad different, with a vast array of friendly points matches taking centre stage. These fixtures featured some real collectors items, and were no less exhilarating as per standard! Almost all teams were able to make it thankfully and those that couldn't will just have to put in the extra effort next Sunday!
Conversely, in Division 1, the action was in full swing with three games that had spectators on the edge of their seats. The Division 1 matches saw Warriors face off against D.T.F.C. In a tightly contested match, D.T.F.C emerged victorious with a 2-0 win, showcasing their dominance on the pitch.
The Top Notch vs Al-Ettifaq In Ell Ref match was a goal fest with Top Notch proving too strong for their opponents, securing a resounding 5-0 victory. The clinical finishing of the Top Notch forwards was the highlight of the match. This absolute masterclass of football earnt this fixture our Match of the Day title.
The final match of the day saw Obese City take on the formidable Ladzio Fc. After a tense 30 minutes, Obese City managed to squeeze out a 1-0 victory, demonstrating that in football, every goal counts. Although with such a slim margin, the poor lads had to defend their goal with bodies on the line!
As we look forward to the upcoming matches next week, it is certain that both divisions will bring their A-game, and promises to provide fans with an action-packed football fest...
