The 13th week of the much-anticipated Burntwood Sunday 6-a-side Football League unfolded last night with some dramatic results in the Premier League and Division 1 tiers.
In the Premier League Division, the foot of the table saw the Smokin Aces maintaintheir composure, shutting out Hakuna Juan Mata 2-0. Meanwhile, spectators were treated to an 8-goal thriller between Al-Ettifaq In Ell Ref and D.T.F.C. Both teams went in a fierce rivals as they coexisted as joint 2nd. What more do you need to be classed as the Match of the Day!? The latter showed their attacking prowess, notching up five goals to come away with a victory. Wow!
Bottom Bunch FC and Lord Of The Ringers played out a thrilling 2-2 draw, both teams sharing the spoils. The deadlock winning streak broken for the helpless reigning champs!! But is it too little too late!? Peek Eboue proved too powerful for Allstars FC, scoring an impressive 8-1 victory. In the final match of the division, Zingers FC were beaten 5-3 by Real Unfitico, ending a captivating round of fixtures in the Premier League Division.
Moving onto Division 1, Obese City fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat against The Ringers. A real dent to their promotion push as the mighty Ringers march on! Mick's Bulldogs stole the show in their game against Yam Yam Army, hammering them 6-0. Do they have what it takes to mount a late charge to the top spots? M S Opeless struggled against the dominant side FAT FC, which came away with an 8-0 victory.
In a tightly contested match, Warriors were defeated 2-0 by Ladzio FC. Sporting Stonnall were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Wekantewin, concluding the week's Division 1 matches.
The Burntwood Sunday 6-a-side Football League promises more action as we approach the conclusion of the season. As the scores get tighter and the stakes get higher, the teams will be putting in their best efforts to secure the title.
