In a thrilling week 17 of the Burntwood Sunday 6-a-side Football league, teams in the Premier League and Division 1 divisions were put to the test in a series of gripping matches.

In the Premier League, Allstars FC took a commanding win over Real Unfitico, with a resounding 5-0 victory. A huge dent for their 2nd place hopes! Zingers FC also showcased their prowess on the pitch with an 8-2 triumph against Hakuna Juan Mata. A massive clash at the foot of the table, as these two look to dodge the wooden spoon. 

Champs Lord Of The Ringers edged out Al-Ettifaq In Ell Ref in a closely contested match that ended 4-2, ending their runner up dream a week early. Meanwhile D.T.F.C handed Peek Eboue a 5-0 defeat, doing the exact same and teeing themselves up for glory as we head into next Sunday’s finale. Rounding out the division, Bottom Bunch FC and BallersFC ended the night with a 1-1 draw. An opportunity missed for the BB crew!?

Over in Division 1, Ladzio Fc and Obese City battled it out to a 1-1 stalemate. It means squeaky bum time for Obese as they stare down the final week. Our newest champs - The Ringers proved their dominance with an 11-1 crushing victory against Yam Yam Army. Wekantewin and M S Opeless couldn't find the back of the net, ending their clash in a 0-0 draw. 

And then there is our Match of the Day… Sporting Stonnall just managed to squeeze past Warriors with a 3-2 win. Albeit mid-table looms for both these sets of lads, this was a hugely entertaining fixture nonetheless! And last but not least Mick's Bulldogs edged out FAT FC by 1-0. Both teams will have to bring their A game next week and standby afterwards to learn their promotion fate..!

This week's top scorers were from the two trophy-winning teams that dominated their matches. In the Premier League, Allstars FC led the tally while in Division 1, The Ringers emerged as the top scorers.

The Burntwood Sunday league continues to provide riveting football action week in and week out. As we move into week 18, we can expect more thrilling matches as teams battle for supremacy in their respective divisions. Stay tuned for the next round of matches.
