The Burntwood Sunday 6-a-side football league kicked off last night with a host of exciting matches. The first week of the new season saw some compelling competition in both the Premier League and Division 1, setting the stage for an exhilarating season ahead.

In the Premier League, D.T.F.C and Zingers FC battled it out in a nail-biting 2-2 draw. Obese City were unable to handle the heat with Bottom Bunch FC stealing a 3-1 win from them. Team Bob, however, started the season with a bang, routing 5 Elites and Me with a decisive 7-2 victory. The Ringers overcame Sosobad FC 3-1, while Peek Eboue edged out No Homers FC 2-1 in a closely fought encounter.

Meanwhile, in Division 1, we have our Match of the Day! Hakuna Juan Mata set an early pace with a 5-1 thrashing of Barking FC. This was the most significant goal tally of the week across both divisions, making Hakuna Juan Mata a team to watch as the season progresses. Great stuff!
