Sunday 23rd January - Burntwood Round-Up

It was another good week of football in the Burntwood Sunday 6 a side league this week, which saw all teams in attendance for their scheduled fixtures once again, and some entertaining games played across both divisions.

In the battle of the top two in the Premier Division this week it was a very entertaining encounter as Ringers Utd secured a 3-2 victory over second placed 6 Elites, who they now move two points ahead of.  Third placed Fat FC missed the opportunity to move into second place as they suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Pique Blinders, whilst Murder on Zidane's Floor beat Obese City by the same score line to remain in fifth place.  MK Dongs moved two points clear of the drop zone as they ran out 3-0 winners over Inter Your Nan.

Division One continues to be dominated by 6 Class Players and Andy, who won their ninth game in a row this week, with a 6-1 thrashing of Warriors.  Second placed Peek Eboue lost further ground on the leaders as they were beaten 5-3 by Delph and Safety in an entertaining fixture, whilst third placed DTFC were 3-0 winners over bottom of the table Hazlewood House as they move within 2 points of the team above them.  Junction Massive picked up their second win in three games since joining the league, they were convincing 5-0 winners over Roy's Allstars.  Experience told in the game between Fortress and Ladzio FC, with Fortress securing maximum points as they were 3-1 winners.
