Monday 7th June 2021 League Report

The Solent and University Monday 6-a-side league at Cantell School

In one the first matches of the night , ‘Cereal Killers’ took on ‘Madeleine Milan’.  A great disparity in footballing experience and class saw the latter storm into an 8:0 lead only ten minutes into the game.  After recovering to stem the flow of goals, ‘Cereal Killers’ used pace on the counterattack to somewhat challenge their opponents.  With ‘Madeleine Milan’ having taken their foot off the gas, ‘Cereal Killers’ pounced on one such opportunity to gain a consolation goal and finish the game with a 10:1 loss.  

Secondly, ‘Arsene Bender’ played ‘AFC Fraudlands’.  Very early goals saw the latter take the lead after only a minute, before the opposition struck back the next minute.  The game continued in this feverish back-and-forth fashion, poised at 2:2 with 15 minutes left to play.  Both teams struggled to break the deadlock from there but ‘AFC Fraudlands’ managed to capitalise on a rare chance to seal the 3:2 victory.
