Leisure Leagues Match Day Three Roundup

Premier League Roundup

Backup Players 1-0 Salad Dodgers

With two Premier League relegation spots to avoid, this fixture was vital for both clubs, and it was Backup Players who triumphed on Sunday. There wasn’t much between the sides but in the end the presence of clinical striker Dalton Walker proved the difference for Backup Players, who move into third place.

The Big Wangers 2-0 The Mighty Morphin Flower Arrangers

The Big Wangers were victorious in a clash of two of our more physical Leisure Leagues sides. Having clashed in the past, both teams knew what to expect, and a close game played out. The Wangers were territorially dominant however, and this proved to be the difference. Box to box midfielder Dan Wright was impressive on his return from injury.

Paris Ganja Man 2-0 Netsix and Chill

Netsix and Chill put on an extremely brave performance in defeat to Paris Ganja Man. The much fancied Parisians didn’t have it their own way as they continued to be denied by a “park the bus mentality” from Netsix. Some incredible saves from Netsix keeper Joe Lovett were not enough in the end to deny title favourites Paris.

Division One Roundup

Adam Johnsons 0-2 Balotellitubbies

Balotellitubbies continued their excellent run of form with a 2-0 win over Adam Johnsons. Adam Johnsons looked visible disappointed after the result, and justifiably so, as they arguably had the better of the game, playing a nice blend of fluid attacking football. Despite his side losing the game, Jack Cox was excellent in midfield. The two sides clash again next week, can the Johnsons get revenge?

Ivory Toast 0-1 Brexteam

Another extremely close encounter was decided by a single goal from Brexteam who continue their march to the Division One title. Ivory Toast were much improved from last week however, and will rue a number of missed chances which cost them the points here. Wingback Ythan Jones performed excellently on the day and is unfortunate to be on the losing side.

Beercelona 0-0 Balotellitubbies

A clash between two of Leisure Leagues in form sides was always going to produce a close affair and so it proved. Despite hitting the woodwork a number of time Beercelona could not pierce a stubborn Balotellitubbies defence. The whites, will have to settle for a point. Captain

Man of the match: Sam Ottewell
