First Games Back after the Winter Break

In an exhilarating week of football at the Rubery Thursday's 6-a-side league, teams from both the Premier League and Division 1 divisions delivered some spectacular performances.

In the Premier League division, SakaPotatoes emerged as the undisputed winners with a thumping 6-1 victory over Chasers81120 FC, demonstrating their prowess and dominance in the game. Jacob Quailey, the star player for SakaPotatoes, was in top form, scoring a whopping two goals and making him the division's top scorer for the week.

Another high-scoring game saw Pipers FC overwhelm Willian Her Mouth with an identical 6-1 scoreline, reflecting the competitive spirit in the division and a perfect debut for the new team


With most of the team on the scoresheet for Pipers, it has put the league on notice for the up coming season

The race for the runners up position, goes to the final game, who will finish second, Willian Her Mouth or Sakapotatoes?

Meanwhile, over in Division 1, Athletico Northfield shone brightly with a convincing 4-0 victory over FC BomersField. Their success can largely be attributed to the superb performance of Pierce Butler, the leading scorer of the division for the week, who contributed an impressive three goals to the team's victory.

Despite fierce competition, Nordic FC dismissed DEPORTiVO FC 3-0 to secure their place in the league standings. A massive win for Nordic, with the Clarke brothers securing the 2 points.

The game between Pathetic Athletic and Delph And Safety ended with a 4-2 victory for Delph And Safety, making it one of the most thrilling matches of the week. With Deportivo also losing, it confirms Delph as Division 1 winners for the season, much deserved for a solid campaign

The final promotion slot from Divsion 1 will go to the wire next week, who will be promoted to the Premier League, Deportivo or Athletico Northfield?

The week 9 of Rubery Thursday's league further solidified the standing of some teams while encouraging others to up their game. With such spirited performances from all the teams, the remaining weeks of the season promise to be filled with more suspense and excitement. As the competition gets fiercer, it will be interesting to see which team emerges as the ultimate champion in their respective divisions.
