Title: Rubery Thursday 6-a-side League Kicks Off with a Bang

Football fever has once again returned to Rubery with the exciting kickoff of the Rubery Thursday 6-a-side Football League. As week one of the season unfolded last night, the competitors in the Premier League and Division 1 demonstrated fierce determination and competitive spirit.

In the Premier League division, Beautiful Men showcased their skills and team coordination with a stunning 5-1 victory against Willian Her Mouth

A hatrick by Jack W helped seal the debut win for the Men, and put the league on notice for this season

SakaPotatoes toppled Delph And Safety 3-1, with last season's runners up looking to go one better this season. Goals from Barnes, Baylis and Quailey secured the points with a tough first game for last season's Division 1 winners Delph

Pique Blinders likewise claimed victory over DEPORTiVO FC with an impressive 3-1 scoreline. Prince pulled the strings for Pique, but the game was closer than the scoreline suggests and Deportivo will take alot of confidence from their first game in the top flight

The match between Mr Woottons U16s and Dyslexia Untied ended in a 1-1 draw. The regiging champions picked up a point against new side Dyslexia, who could prove to be this season's dark horses

Over in Division 1, Athletico Northfield triumphed over Pipers FC with a 3-1 win. Some are saying Northfield are the bookies favourites for promotion this year, but Pipers will look to bounce back next week with a full team

Chasers81120 FC outclassed Pathetic Athletic with a whopping 6-2 victory, with a hatrick for Dimitri. Chasers will be looking for promotion back to the Premier league after a dissapointing campaign last season

Nordic FC managed to edge out The Special Inbetweeners 2-1 with a goal right near the end of the game. Special Inbetweeners should be proud of their first league game and take that confidence into next week


Most Valuable Player - Amar Boz (Nordic FC)


Meanwhile, Misfits FC secured a clean sheet against FC BomersField with a 2-0 victory. A great result for the team made up of lads who signed up as single players on the website


Most Valuable Player - Brendan Farrelly (Misfits FC)


Standout player in this division was Dimitri from Chasers81120 FC, who scored an impressive total of 4 goals.
