New Newton Abbot Monday 6 a side season kicks off!

The action was fierce and the competition was intense, as the Newton Abbot Monday 6-a-side Football League kicked off its new season last night. The Premier League was at the centre of the action, with teams Expected Toulouse, Kings Arms AFC, Newton Wanderers, Bristows Dream Team, Six’ Offenders, and Furzeys Dream Team going head-to-head in an evening of thrilling football.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Kings Arms AFC made an early statement with a decisive 9-1 victory over Expected Toulouse. The standout player of the match, and indeed, the whole week, was Jake Attard of Kings Arms AFC who managed to net an impressive 4 goals, earning himself the title of the 'Most Valued Player' for the week. His exceptional performance set the tone for the league, proving that Kings Arms AFC are a force to be reckoned with this season.

Meanwhile, in another closely fought contest, new boys Bristows Dream Team edged out former champions Newton Wanderers 2-1 in a nail-biting finish, Corey Price with a brace for Bristows. Reigning champions Furzeys Dream Team also managed to secure a narrow 4-3 victory against retuning team Six ’Offenders who had lead 3-2 with 5 minutes to go but a hat-trick from Jacob Willis turned it, rounding off an evening of exciting football.

As the season has just begun, these scores serve as early indicators of the intense competition expected in the upcoming weeks. The players will no doubt be looking to build on their performances, with the top scorers from each team aiming to keep their momentum going.
