Sunday 1st February - Ashton Under Lyne Round-Up

It was another good evening's football in the Ashton Under Lyne Sunday 6 a side league this week, with all teams in attendance throughout the night across both divisions.

In the top-tier Premier League, underdogs Shitzerland put up a spirited fight but eventually succumbed 3-2 to the fiery Ashton Villa. Ben Burchell was the standout performer, netting twice for Ashton Villa and emerging as the top scorer for the division.

The most one-sided match of the day, however, was in the league's bottom division where Inter Row Z ran riot against Only Here 4 The Beer with an emphatic 4-0 victory. Going Toulouse also registered a clean sweep against Gangsters Allardyce, winning by an impressive 6-0, making it one of the most memorable performances of the night.

Moving onto Division 1, goals were aplenty as Cockwombles ran riot against Still Only Here with an astounding 10-2 victory. Shaun H was the star of the show, scoring four goals for Cockwombles, making him the top scorer for the division. It was a tough day on the field for Still Only Here, who now have to regroup and come back stronger next week.

Man Shitty also had a lopsided win against Unathletic Bilbao, finishing the game with a clean sheet of 6-0. Meanwhile, in a more closely fought contest, Shaw Fc and Sons Of A Pitch played to a 1-1 draw, demonstrating the tenacity and grit of both teams.
