SOUTHEND SUNDAY FOOTBALL LEAGUE REPORT
Southend Sunday Football League was alight with action this week as teams battled it out on the football pitches in both the Premier League and Division 1.
In the Premier League, Steve's Specials maintained their grip at the top with a stellar 3-1 victory over Shark Island Nightmares. EG FC and Varane Summers shared the spoils in a competitive 2-2 draw, while Big Hs 7s edged out LL CFC in a thrilling 4-2 contest. Porters 7s narrowly triumphed over F.C Sparkathorn, winning the match 2-1.
The Division 1 games were equally competitive and exciting. BigHs 2nd dominated in their 4-1 victory over MITS Athletic, while Varane Summers 2nds kept a clean sheet against S.I.N., winning the match 2-0. Sparkalona squeezed past EG FC 2nds in a tight 3-2 victory, and Mellow Yellows managed to keep LL CFC 2nds at bay, winning the game 2-0.
The goal-scorers were in sensational form this week. In the Premier League, Steve's Specials' striker took home the accolades, netting two of the three goals in their victory. Over in Division 1, the forward from BigHs 2nd was in a league of his own, scoring three of the four goals in their victory over MITS Athletic.
