In the opening week of the Southend Sunday 7-a-side football league, the competition was fierce across all divisions, with notable performances in the Premier League, Division 1, and Division 2.

In the Premier League, Steve's Specials made their mark with a convincing 2-0 victory over A Dad And His Boys, setting the tone for the season. Big Hs 7s also secured a 2-0 win against SHS Sevens, demonstrating a strong defence and efficient attack. Meanwhile, S.I.N. made a strong statement, scoring 4-1 against F.C Sparkathorn, highlighting their offensive prowess.

Over in Division 1, UNCBRINI FC had to swallow a bitter pill as they were dominated by BigHs 2nd in a 5-1 thrashing. Mellow Yellows displayed fantastic football skills and team coordination as they scored a whopping 6-0 victory over Shoebury Unathletic. Shark Island Nightmares secured a 2-0 win over MITS United, showing a balanced team performance.

Finally, in Division 2, UNCBRINI FC 2 pulled off a close victory over A Dad And His Sons with a final score of 1-0. Sparkalona and MITS Athletic engaged in a high-scoring match, with MITS Athletic emerging victorious with a 3-2 win. Southend Eagles demonstrated their dominance with a 2-0 victory over Shoebury Very Unathletic.

As the season has just kicked off, it's important to note the top scorers from each division: S.I.N.'s striker in the Premier League with 4 goals, BigHs 2nd's forward in Division 1 with 5 goals, and Southend Eagles' attacker in Division 2 with 2 goals.
