Exeter Gently dispatch Gangsters in clash at Gerard Buxton

There were close matches, big upsets as the second night of the new season got underway yesterday at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground.

Bailey’s boys continued to stake a claim to be title contenders with a second impressive performance in a row against Sloblins although they might be worried about conceding against a team that only scored two goals in the whole of last season.

2 goals were equally impressive and look to make amends to a disappointing end to let season while FC Guava, who are continuing to get used to each other, will be satisfied with a much improved performance against another of last seasons top teams.

The most frustrated team of the night will surely be Hardley Athletic. They were 3-1 at half time but could only manage a 4-4 draw by the final whistle.

Athletico Bilbao Baggins looked strong against the Underdogs who so far are living up to their name as the team and look most likely at the moment to finish bottom of the league.

By far the most impressive performance of the night went to Exeter Gently who put manners on last seasons champions Gangsters Allardyce. Both Ryan Wallace and Ryan Baker got on the scoresheet with impressive finishes but the whole team deserve huge credit for the manner of their performance.

In the final game new boys Who Ate All Depays took on fellow newcomers The Unplayables in a game that could probably have been seen from space given how bring the green and orange kits were. It was a close game and credit goes to both teams for the spirit the game was played in but Who Ate All Depays probably just about edged it in the end.

MOM:

Micheal Gilder (2 Goals)

Luke Neves (Bailey’s Boys)

Dec Richins (Hardley)

Shaun Carter (Athletico)

Ryan Baker (Exeter)

Dave Warrington (Who Ate All Depays)

Can’t wait to see everyone down at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground for round 3 of the LEISURE LEAGUES SWINDON MONDAY SIX A SIDE!
