Swindon Leisure Leagues six a side thrown open by 2 Goals

It looked as though Silence of the Lahms were heading towards a debut season triumph until they came up against a 2 Goals 1 Cup determined to enact revenge after their defeat earlier in the season. The victory for 2 Goals keeps alive their title aspirations and with Silence coming up against the other title challengers Gangsters Allardyce next week arguably they are now in the driving seat. The decisive goal came from Will Steckrel, who has an impressive scoring record this season, after he was able to capitalise on a mistake from Silence's goal keeper. Silence did their best to try and recover the situation but even an outstanding solo goal from captain George Staten could not salvage anything from the game. Silence now only have a 1 point lead in the campaign heading into the final third of the season.

The second game saw Hardley take on Athletic Bilbao Baggins in a friendly after Bass Rugby were unable to get a team together. The game was a competitive affair with both teams playing the football around nicely. Hardley have enjoyed a successful second half of the season and goals from the impressive Cody Dobson, Jack Stevens and Jamie Hall ensured that Hardley went away from the game with plenty of confidence to ensure a strong finish towards the end of the season.

Game three saw Wirral Wubbish build on their impressive performance the week before with a comprehensive victory over Sloblins. Braces from Matt, Craig and Jack helped Wirral's goal difference in what will be a close end to the season with Hardley and Expected to see whom finishes in the top half.

The final game was somewhat compromised but Expected Toulouse, bolstered by some strong attacking options in the shape of Ryan Wallace and Ryan Baker, came straight out of the blocks all guns blazing. Both Ryans need to enter a team as soon as possible as both are capable of representing their country in the England six a side World Cup. It was unfortunate for Gangsters who would have wanted to take advantage of Silence's slip up. Nevertheless, it leaves the league in an intriguing position heading into the crunch match next week between the two sides. The winner could well go on to lift the trophy. However, if both teams slip up, @ Goals are perfectly placed to take advantage.

With less than a month to go until the season concludes we are beginning to look for new teams to join the league. For the month of June you will be able to join the league for £6. This is an 80% reduction on the usual price.
